We publish the speech by Fernando Gatta, Mayor of Villalago, in Abruzzo, where the free hotspots have been activated and in addition to the Municipalities that have joined the WiFi Italia Project.

Villalago is an ancient fortified village of extraordinary beauty and is included in the prestigious club of "The most beautiful villages in Italy". It is located on the top of Monte Argoneta, between the fascinating artificial lake of S. Domenico and the wonderful natural lake of Scanno. The current historical center, arranged as an amphitheater on the eastern side of Monte Argatone, is characterized by suggestive views with steps, narrow alleys and panoramic squares. The portals, the stairways, the ancient stone houses create magical atmospheres. Inside the nucleus you can visit the Medieval Tower, the old Town Hall, the church of the Madonna dell'Addolorata, the parish church, the church of San Michele and the Hermitage of San Domenico. The upper Sagittario Valley, where Villalago represents the ideal geographic center, is characterized by a continuous alternation of mountain ridges and deep valleys with wide plateaus and valleys, with an interesting morphological variety and is perched between two lakes, that of Scanno and that of San Domenico. The most classic of the mountain itineraries is the one that leads to Monte Argatone. From the top it is possible to enjoy an exceptional panorama of both the town and the Marsica and the Abruzzo National Park, a meeting place for protected fauna, even deer and bear have chosen Villalago as the ideal place to live undisturbed.

A large program of cultural and entertainment events makes your stay in Villalago pleasant. In addition to the many festivals dedicated to San Domenico and other saints, we remember the August Villalaghese event, a series of festivals, concerts, theatrical performances, exhibitions to participate in between one excursion and the other on the Massif of the Montagna Grande or on the nearby Gran Stone. The initiatives, combined with the extraordinary vocation of this country, serve to make this environment truly usable and ready to welcome visitors in the best possible way, preparing them to experience a fascinating holiday face to face with nature; in this perspective, joining the Wifi Italia project, created by Infratel Italia, is an additional opportunity to offer services to citizens and tourists.
